A proxy is responsible for forwarding traffic. Technically, it just copies the traffic and sends it to the Internet, but it also replaces various metadata (the type of equipment from which the request is sent, the port number, the IP address, and so on). Or it can be simply called a "mediator" in the computer network.

To connect a proxy on your PlayStation 5 (PS5), follow these steps:

1. Go to "Settings" on your PS5.

2. Select "Network" > "Set Up Internet Connection."

3. Choose "Use a Proxy Server" and select "Do not automatically detect the proxy server."

4. Enter the proxy server address and port provided by your proxy service.

5. Test the connection to ensure it's working correctly.

6. Save your settings and restart your PS5 if necessary.

Please note that using proxies on gaming consoles may violate the terms of service and could lead to potential issues with online gaming.

The main task of these two popular technologies is to provide security for the Internet user. Despite a certain similarity of tasks, they are performed absolutely differently. Proxy, although it allows you to remain anonymous and bypass blocked sites, it is still quite vulnerable, especially when it comes to untested services. VPN in this regard looks preferable, because thanks to end-to-end encryption it reliably protects information from the entry point to the exit point.

You can make sure that your IP address and confidential information is protected with the help of special online services. It is recommended to perform such checks to confirm or deny the security of personal IP on a regular basis. It will help to avoid many troubles, including blocking your work in the network.

Click on the globe icon (settings panel) and open the IPoE tab. On the page that opens, select "ISP Broadband Connection". Switch the "Configure IP Settings" to "Manual" mode. After that, fill in the appropriate fields and press the "Apply" button. In the menu, under "Home network", find the "Computers" item and by clicking on the tab IPMP Proxy, uncheck the appropriate checkbox. Now find the "Components" item, install and activate the Proxy UDP HTTP utility and then update it. The next step is to click on "Home Network-Computers". In the window that appears, make the checkbox "Enable UPDXY server" active and enter the values required by the program. Then, after selecting the Broadband Connection as the communication channel, click on the "Apply" button.
